On October 31st, 1996, Mr. Dong Woo Kim establishes in Seoul the company “Ampelos Enterprise Co., Ltd.". Not long after that, he starts taking interest in the Latin American market, and begins to travel to this region, promoting the first line of products that Ampelos commercialized: Optical products and equipment. Therefore, the first products Ampelos commercializes in this market are eyeglass frames, ophthalmic lenses, polishers, corner breaking system, and other equipment for the ophthalmological industry.
The quality and competitiveness of the products arriving to the Latin American market are such, that very son many requests for more and new products related to health and the medical industry begin to appear.
Then, Ampelos begins distributing medical supplies for hospitals, machinery for the pharmaceutical industry, medical and hospital equipments and others. Today, Ampelos has a history of more than 12 years working in several countries of the area.
Trough all this time, we have gained prestige a strong position in the market, serving our clients with only good quality products directly from the best manufacturers, offering them the best guarantee terms, spare parts availability and payment facilities.
Due to this growing amount of business, "Ampelos Latinamerica S.A." is established in Panama, in 1997.
